The top ten things NOT to do before filing bankruptcy
- Do not incur any large new debts prior to filing bankruptcy
- Do not give away any significant assets to anybody before filing bankrutpcy, especially to a relative

- Do not forget to include any creditors on your bankruptcy petition
- Do not forget to pay your lawyer before the petition is filed. If you do not pay your lawyer, your lawyer may not file your bankruptcy petition.
- Do not forget to take your consumer credit counseling course before filing bankruptcy
- Do not try to hide any assets from your lawyer or the court
- Do not forget to give your lawyer your last 6 months in pay stubs
- Do not forget to tell your lawyer about any foreign assets you have
- Do not forget to sign your bankruptcy petition
